Message from the President

Next Year’s Officers Nominated

The 2008-2009 Mt. Erie PTA Officers were nominated at our last General PTA Meeting. Congratulations to the following nominated officers:

President- Suzy Gilbert

Vice President- Carey South

Co-Treasurers- Brooke Wiersum and Holly Goss

Secretary- Ashley King

Thank you for volunteering your time to Mt. Erie! If you are interested in being on the PTA Board for next year or would like to chair an ad hoc  committee or simply be more involved in PTA, call Suzy Gilbert at 588-8380. There are still lots of    opportunities and positions left to be filled!

Clothing Drive and Book Swap on May 23rd

We will be accepting used and new clothing on Friday, May 23rd from 9:00-1:00 pm in the front of the school. Bring in your bags of clothes that day and we will do the rest!  Jeans and shirts for school age children are especially needed. This benefits the “Getting Ready to Learn Fair” sponsored by the Red Cross.  This fair helps over 125 families in our area with school clothes and supplies. We will also be hosting a “book swap” for summer reading on this day. Students can bring in a book(s) and take one home for summer reading. This will take place from 12:00-1:00 pm after school on the 23rd

The last General PTA Meeting will be held on May 20th at 7:00 pm in the Library. Hope to see you there!

What's New?

Middle School Spring Sports Physical
Sponsored by the Anacortes High School Seahawk Athletic Booster Association - SABA


To:  Parents of students entering Anacortes Middle School who plan on participating in a sport (s) during the school year.
The Seahawk Athletic Booster Association is holding its annual Sports Physical Fundraiser.  Local doctors donate their time to provide inexpensive and convenient Sports Physicals in preparation for participation in Anacortes School District Sports.  This physical will fulfill the requirement for students who plan on participating in any sports at the Middle and/or High school during the next school year, 2008 - 2009.
When: Tuesday, May 20th, from 6 - 8 p.m.
Where:  Anacortes Middle School, enter through the front door.
Cost:  $25 per student
Details:  All necessary paperwork will be available at the event. The paperwork does require a parent signature. A parent or guardian must accompany the student on May 20th.  
Paperwork is available at your local school to fill out ahead of time.  The completed forms will be delivered to the appropriate school.
Important Note: No student can be examined who has either a current or past history with orthopedic or heart problems, diabetes, asthma, or other serious medical problems.  These students must see their personal physicians.
